Any update on the fires in LA?

First - We are totally safe. We are at least 75 miles from the closest (big) fire in Palm Springs. Because these are Santa Ana wind-driven fires, they are all going away from us. This morning, I could see a lot of smoke, but as the day went on, the smoke changed directions and is again over the ocean. I can't really see it from PS.

Here is a map. Just for info for you that have been here.

The green dots are our old houses, the lower in Hancock Park and the Upper in the Hollywood Hills; both are safe. The blue dots are UCLA on the west and the Rose Bowl on the east. The Palisades fire would threaten UCLA if it jumps (against the wind) the 405.

The black dots represent places we have taken friends. The lower one is Will Rogers Beach, where we take friends to see the Pacific Ocean. The highest one is the Getty Villa Museum. It is a gorgeous collection of Roman and Greek statuary and Renaissance paintings. So far, the fire has only affected the vegetation, but I am sure they moved the paintings downstairs into the fire-proof vaults.

They are horrible fires, but ones we are safe from.
