A Red Panda after my own heart...


I knew that "Red Pandas" were not regular pandas. Not even closely related, but then no animal is very closely related to the red panda.

Pandas are in the bear family. While red pandas are the only living members of their taxonomic family, Ailuridae (yes I had to look that up).

I think they are cute, but I did not know they were known as escape artists. 

And I love the picture of one tuckered out red panda in the tree.

    Much the same posture as the squirrel posted recently. They make it look comfy.
