I will stop soon with the Macedonia pictures. Promise. But first some cool statues and monuments from the cold old commie days.
This monument is hard to see. It is ignored, off a side road. It took some digging to find it.The full image is at the bottom. I shows the people of Macedonia first fighting the Ottoman Empire (on the left of the large monument with detail on the left upper picture) and the right shows the people of Macedonia and Yugoslavia partisans fighting the Axis powers in World War II, particularly the Nazis. Thee is a good detail picture on the upper right of the college.
Modern style statue of Mother Teresa |
Couldn't find out anything about this, but I like it a lot. |
Dedication plague for University of St. Cyril and St. Methodius |
Statue on Campus o St. Cyril and St. Methodius Notice the resemblance to the statue of Mother Teresa |
This was outside the original Telecommunications building. |
Yugoslavian Memorial to the fighters in World War II And, no, I don't understand this one either |
This was outside the new Post Office. It has no plaque or anything but was made during the brutalist period. I really liked this.
