And about the Statues

 So in a city tour the guide explained that there was a lot of corruption with building the statues. Once they were built, everyone found out they are not marble - which Macedonia has a ton of - but the government secretly exported but cheap rock. Apparently you can touch it, marble is cool, other stuff, not so much.

And the "copper" is something cheap and falls apart rather than fade to a patina. 

On the other hand, the Stone Bridge pictured below, was built first by Justin, the first emperor of the Byzantium Empire. The Eastern Roman Empire in the 6th Century. It was rebuilt by the Ottoman Empire in about 1400. It was partially destroyed in WWI. Anyway, it is cool
