To bring us all back up to speed. Amber Guyger was the policewoman that came home, went to the wrong apartment on the wrong floor and murdered a black man.
She was convicted of murder based on her our statements and actions after the shooting.
One of the key witnesses was a young man who was a neighbor of the deceased. Joshua Brown heard and saw what happened.
He was, apparently, very brave in testifying against the police.
He was murdered tonight. Joshua Brown wasn't a gang member. He was a college graduate running multiple AirBNB places. Witnesses saw a silver 4 door sedan leave the scene.
Lesson Learned. Don't testify against the Dallas PD.
Just to be clear, I am NOT in anyway blaming the police. But I think some vigilantes were upset that a black man provided the testimony that put a white woman away for 5 years for killing an unarmed black man in his own home.
(From On Tyranny) 2. Defend institutions. It is institutions that help us to preserve decency. They need our help as well. Do not speak of "our institutions" unless you make them yours by acting on their behalf. Institutions do not protect themselves. They fall one after the other unless each is defended from the beginning. So choose an institution you care about -- a court, a newspaper, a law, a labor union -- and take its side.
