Why this fire season so bad in LA?

 Well, climate change (or 1 in a 2000 years chance) brought two years of epic rain to the area - which is why we had that amazing wild flower season. Since then, no rain. Like NO rain. Since rainy season in LA started they had less than 10% of normal rain. And normal rain is pretty freaking low to begin with. So less than a 1/10 of an inch in most areas.

So, there is a lot of really dry scrub and brush. Then Santa Ana winds started blowing super heated, super fast moving, super dry winds the “wrong way”. I can explain how Santa Ana winds work later.

But enough of problems. Let’s hear reasons: I will give you reasons and then a mix of who said it. You match them.

Reasons (from real posts)

1. It is our typical fire season, but magnified by extra amounts of dry brush, drought and hot winds.
2. It’s the fault of the Governor who sent fresh water to the ocean in order to save some fish called “smelt”.
3. It the fault of DEI hires (diversity, equality, and inclusion).
4. LA Fire gave all their supplies to Ukraine
5. It’s all the fault of  the  homeless (particularly illegal alien homeless)

Note 1) - The LA Country Fire Department also explains that with 3 or 4 MAJOR fires, they are out  of fire fighters and have asked anyone who  has experience to help. Crews have come in from Arizona and Nevada to  help (so far)

Note 2):  Trumpkins is referring to a non-existent plan to save the smelt. Smelt are not endangered or threatened. His confusion might refer to the “snail darter” A fish that in 1970s stopped construction on a dam in Tennessee (about 1500 miles from California). Parts of the fire zone, particularly in the Pacific Palisades, did run out of water at fire plugs - but it is from the demand of water by both fire departments and homeowners to help fight fires and save homes in the county

 Note 3) Our new Fire Chief is a black lesbian woman. So, clearly, shew as a DEI hire. This  is her DEI background  As a 22-year veteran of the LAFD, Chief Crowley has proven her credibility and character by promoting through the ranks. She served as a Firefighter, Paramedic, Engineer, Fire Inspector, Captain I, Captain II, Battalion Chief, Assistant Chief, Deputy Chief, Chief Deputy, and Fire Chief.

 Note 4) In 2022, at the beginning of the Ukraine / Russia war, the LA Fire Department DID, in fact, send equipment to Ukraine to help fight fires the  threaten and killed people. Isn’t he 2 years since LA Fire has more than replaced those kits. As noted in Note 1), the problem is not equipment it is manpower.
