I was too happy yesterday to comment. I care more that this case was brought than I am of either verdict. It means something very personnel to me - to uphold the law.
(From On Tyranny) 2. Defend institutions. It is institutions that help us to preserve decency. They need our help as well. Do not speak of "our institutions" unless you make them yours by acting on their behalf. Institutions do not protect themselves. They fall one after the other unless each is defended from the beginning. So choose an institution you care about -- a court, a newspaper, a law, a labor union -- and take its side.

I was relieved, sad, and scared...relieved that our legal system is working despite the naysayers, sad about the events that led up to this indictment and another year all about Trump, and scared that he may make it back to the White House.
ReplyDeleteI agree whole heartedly! I am very happy our legal system is (kind of) working. I am a bit afraid that every indictment brings more money for Trump, but what can you do. His polling hasn't changed much, so maybe this will finally do it. I definitely think it will turn of independents. I just hope they don't sit home on election day.
