Maya Angelou and Republicans?

Words of wisdom to remember, particularly now as we face a couple of elections.

This quote bears repeated now. Don't expect politicians to change their views. During the 2016 campaign, Donald Trump promised a bunch of shit, and he got a lot (okay - not that damn wall with Mexico :-).

Promises kept:

• Put a temporary ban on Muslims coming into the country. (Still in effect)
• Appoint only Justices that will overturn Roe (done and done)
• Pass a tax cut (done - and it benefitted rich people and building developers the most).
• Allow states to regulate their own elections.
• Open more of the country for oil drilling (done)
• Fight to reduce federal park land (done)
• Reduce regulations form the EPA (done)

So why on earth would you expect a different result now from Republicans who vow to: return to the states the right to gay marriage, reduce contraception (or at least stop any payment for it) and destroy the Department of Education. 

Don't think I am overlooking a woman's right to bodily autonomy. Having cancelled women's rights at the state level, Republicans not want to ban it at a federal level. They want to make cross border travel illegal for women who might be have an abortion.

Fucking believe them!
