(From On Tyranny) 2. Defend institutions. It is institutions that help us to preserve decency. They need our help as well. Do not speak of "our institutions" unless you make them yours by acting on their behalf. Institutions do not protect themselves. They fall one after the other unless each is defended from the beginning. So choose an institution you care about -- a court, a newspaper, a law, a labor union -- and take its side.

If you get a chance
Watch Heartstopper on Netflix, if you can. It is a story of two boys in love and the joy they find in a high school crush, but is really about young crushes and hopes.
It is a gay love story, but could be any type of love story. The most sex there is in the story is a small amount of kissing. But the story itself concerns the heartbreak and young love that covers so much of our time in high school, but is quickly forgotten when you grow up. And it is played by people you can believe are in high school - not hot older actors (looking at you Riverdale).
The longing, the hope, the crushed dreams and the redemption of the story is lovely, and pretty universal at that point in our lives.
