World AIDS Day

It is the 23rd World AIDS Day. It was designed to bring attention and funding to AIDS research at first. It is also a day of remembrance for those that we have lost.

Here is a picture of 4 friends (1 of whom was my partner). Of these gentlemen, #2 was Mark Coleman, lost not long after this picture. #4 was Mark Cunningham - my partner of 5 years before I lost him. I still remember Mark, especially today.

The 4 Marks: Goldberg, Coleman (died 1992), Janke and Cunningham (died 1993)

It's interesting. I think a lot of people are responding to Covid now the way we responded to AIDS then.  A personal vow never to let our life slip away. A personal vow never to run away from friends and love. A personal vow to life life to its fullest, as life is a gift we cannot squander.

I know that Mark would have been happy I found Ed. I know that he would want the best for me. And I am living my best life, happy and in love. I also know that he will always be a part of me.
