Ron Desantis (Trump 2.0) wants his own Brown Shirts

Well, this is fucked up. Ron Desantis is the Governor of Florida and a Trump acolyte and wanna be successor. Ron Desantis would also like to out-Trump Trump. In this he might have.

Gov Desantis has proposed (and may get) a completely separate military force that he, not the US government, would control. To date we have had semi-autonomous paramilitary force in the "Oath Keepers", "Texas Freedom Force", "The Three Percenters"  and  "The Proud Boys", all of which participated in the attack on the Capital on Jan 6th. These also share a distinction that the US Government has found them to be opposed to the United States government in its current form (they want it free of Jewish people, Black people, Democrats and Hispanics (except good ones that voted for Trump) - pretty much in that order. All are on the FBI watch lists. But these are non-government backed.

Note: The current States' National Guard Chapters ultimately do report into the US command structure.

Desantis was a privately backed military that does NOT report to the US government, but to him. This is based (whether we like it or not) on the paramilitary forces that Mussolini and Hitler established before they took power, the Black Shirts and the Brown Shirts.

Sure call me a chicken little, but read the Brown Shirt expert below from Wikipedia. This is truly fucked up. Combined with the current Florida law that allows violence against protesters, we are in dangerous territory. Well past "potentially" and right into fucked.

The Sturmabteilung (SA; literally "Storm Detachment") was the Nazi Party's original paramilitary wing. It played a significant role in Adolf Hitler's rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s. Its primary purposes were providing protection for Nazi rallies and assemblies, disrupting the meetings of opposing parties, fighting against the paramilitary units of the opposing parties, especially the Roter Frontkämpferbund of the Communist Party of Germany (KPD) and the Reichsbanner Schwarz-Rot-Gold of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD), and intimidating Romanitrade unionists, and especially Jews.

The SA were colloquially called Brownshirts (Braunhemden) because of the colour of their uniform's shirts, similar to Benito Mussolini's blackshirts. The official uniform of the SA was the brown shirt with a brown tie. The color came about because a large shipment of Lettow-shirts, originally intended for the German colonial troops in Germany's former East Africa colony,[2] was purchased in 1921 by Gerhard Roßbach for use by his Freikorps paramilitary unit. They were later used for his Schill Youth organization in Salzburg, and in 1924 were adopted by the Schill Youth in Germany.[3] The "Schill Sportversand" then became the main supplier for the SA brown shirts. The SA developed pseudo-military titles for its members, with ranks that were later adopted by several other Nazi Party groups, chief amongst them the Schutzstaffel (SS), which originated as a branch of the SA before it was separated from it after the Night of the Long Knives.
