I was listening to "The New Abnormal" with Molly Jong-Fast, a self described left-wing pundit, a couple of weeks back. She had James Carville on. Now, his voice bugs me. His preachiness bugs me. And he is getting old and cranky (crankier).
But, as it turns out, his instincts are better than almost anyone in the Democratic Party. AND, it seems the best work is done by the Ex-Republican "Lincoln Project".
“I mean, this ‘defund the police’ lunacy, this take Abraham Lincoln’s name off of schools. I mean that — people see that. It’s just really — has a suppressive effect all across the country on Democrats. Some of these people need to go to a ‘woke’ detox center or something.
“They’re expressing a language that people just don’t use, and there’s backlash and a frustration at that.” – Democratic strategist James Carville, speaking last night on PBS.
You can find the full interview on PBS or on YouTube. But he is right. Hell, I am annoyed that they are taking Thomas Jefferson's statue out of the New York City Hall because it offends some of the City Council members. Better to offend a few on our side, rather than lose consistently.
