Trolls

Trolls. Iceland has a tradition of finding trolls and elves in nature. It is a pagan belief that has extended to the current days tradition. Which is odd given that Iceland is a modern, technologically advanced nation. But it is fun.

Eddie walking into the troll valley in Dimmuborgir.

Dimmuborgir is a nature park in the Mytvatn lakes region. Geologically it is a surprise in the flat area around the lake. In fact, much the "lost canyon" in Joshua Tree and the "hidden canyon" in Arizona, you don't see this until you enter the area.

Now trolls can only go about at night. The trolls in the park were out during the day (through mistakes or trickery) and were molded into the formations you see here. It was super cool, and goofy as hell.

Below is the depiction of a troll, at about 1/2 or 1/3 size. I am in the shot for scale :-).
