Our hotel in Iceland we were very near Husavik. You know, from the Eurovision movie! So Eddie and I set out. I not only wanted to see the town but there was a place, called "Geosea", I wanted to see even more!
First Husavik
Husavik is still a working town. By that I mean there are lots of fishing boats, an export system (for Silica from Myvatn) and it is also sports a booming "whale watching" tourist business. In fact, Husavik is the whale watching capital of Iceland.

The one thing you might notice about these pictures are the snow-covered mountains behind us. These are on a rugged peninsula between Husavik and Akureyri (where we stayed). The government had just completed a new tunnel under them that cut nearly 30 minutes off the drive between the two.
We know this because the locals told us, and also because the car's GPS didn't know where the tunnel was and updated the expected arrival time by about 30 minutes once we drove through the 7 kilometer tunnel (that is 4.2 miles long).

If you see the caption above the door it says "Play Ja Ja Ding Dong" |
Then: Geosea
Just on the outskirts of Husavik, Geosea is a unique soaking experience. It is made up of a thermal sea spring that delivers very hot sea water. That water is mixed with fresh water to make the baths. But the most impressive sight is that the pools are built right on a cliff above the ocean. You could soak, watch the sea and enjoy the Arctic Terns that swooped and flew around the cliffs.

Just above the bathes is a Icelandic Lighthouse. |

And yes, of course there is a swim up bar. |
Eddie and I soaked, soaked in the view and relaxed.
