Rusty Went Home

Well, it has been a busy week. As I said, Rusty had to go back to live somewhere with an outdoor space. We wanted to have him shipped (per their request) back to the breeder who lives in southern Missouri - but that wasn't going to work, so I took him on Thursday/Friday of last week.

Rusty's new / old home

Sure, it was a pain in the ass. I had to fly to St. Louis then rent a car for a 3 hour drive to Springfield. Luckily, because of shortages, and my desire for a 1 day rental, I got a great deal on a Nissan Rogue, so it was a pleasant drive.

As for Rusty, it was very sad for me, but not so much for Rusty. When we got there, he was happy to romp in the yard (fenced and large). then I turned around, drove the 3 and half hours back and spent the night at the Pear Tree Inn (cheap, but very comfortable with a free breakfast and happy hour).

It all added up as another reason to avoid Missouri at all costs. I thought staying out of Kansas City would be enough, but apparently the entire state has it in for me.

Eddie and I are sad, because we thought we could handle anything. And the no-liver, home-made food, constant diapers, those we were okay with. But Rusty wasn't happy in an apartment. And he occasionally showed that unhappiness with a nip. Ed is going to need a bit of cosmetic surgery to get his eyelid back to normal and together these were enough reason to take him back to a house with a yard.

Then we decided this week-end to get out of the house for a while and we had a great time. Images and stories to follow.

Sometimes I despair at age. But this gives me hope.

I mean, I don't want a child, but I think she is older than Tony Randel. Unlike Tony, she pushed this out!
