Wave Hill Gardens Alpine Section

One of the key reasons we went to the Wave Hill Gardens was to see the Alpine Section of the Gardens. I love an Alpine Garden and this has one of the better ones in New York area. Some pictures:

They are planting some flowers in an already built wall. So they cannot build a rockery.

A rockery or flowers in crevices are very "alpine" and mimic growth on mountains were the crevices collect soil and tend to thaw a bit earlier than other places.

The wall, and the "tubs" built from porous rock that mimic the environment of mountains

Various North American "Alpine" flowers.

These beauties are native to the Cascade mountains in Oregon / Washington

And then there is my method

I saw this and had to share. This is the way I tell a story. And Lynn... And my mother... And Lisa... And, really really me...
