Italy is probably great, but Ed and I didn't go. I got dizzy, fell, fractured 2 ribs, and punctured a lung. So I have been in the hospital since Saturday night.

And now, it was neither drink nor pot that did this to me. I get dizzy when I stand up too fast. Usually, I stand still and wait for it to pass, but I think I might have rushed into the bathroom too quickly because we paused a show. So I passed or fainted. Either way, I fell sideways onto the toilet and then the floor. I fractured my ribs and all, but maybe it was lucky as I didn't hit full height on my head.
FYI - Great hospital. I was at Desert Regional, and they were great. It helps that action was light over Memorial Day. I visited the ER, ICU, and regular old rooms. Everywhere they were great.

So I am now home, but in hella pain. I guess I have to live with it for a while, as it takes a fairly long time to heal ribs. They didn't operate; the fracture means they will probably heal on their own. Also, they were worried they might have to put a drain in my lungs to the outside. But that is okay as my lung pressure keeps going up and the bubble has disappeared.
So, long story short:
1. I feel terrible, but am doing okay.
2. I'm unable to fly, so our Italy/Switzerland/friend excursion had to be cancelled.
3. Farts and burps hurt. That limits quite a bit of my repertoire.
4. I'll be fine and back to funny in no time at all. Lucky Ed.
Oddly, Ed is not looking forward to being a nurse to a cranky patient. He missed me when I was gone, but how long will that last? I do not do sick well. Thoughts and prayers for him.
Speedy recovery my friend.
