There are two special elections today.
One is a small test of Republican popularity right now. There are two elections in Florida to replace Republican House Members: Mike Waltz, who was promoted to Head of Leaked Security Chats, and Matt Gaetz, who left Congress for sex with a minor, drug use, and general assholishness. Both districts are overwhelmingly conservative. Trump's margin in his win was about 30% in both districts (about 65% to 35%). If it is close, that is an ominous portent for the Republicans. If they match or exceed the general election totals for Trump - they will be doing great.
The second election is for the State Supreme Court member in Wisconsin. The race is the most expensive judicial race in history, with over $15 million dollars donated by Elon Musk alone. It is a test case to see if he can actually buy a non-Presidential election. If he can, it bodes poorly for the next House Election (next year) and any swing districts.
So a special day all around.
Musk's money apparently wasn't enough to sway the Wisconsin voters who chose Crawford. Yay!
ReplyDeleteAgreed. It was a great day there. All of Ed's Wisconsin friends were happy and sharing the news.
