6. Be wary of paramilitaries. When the men with guns who have always claimed to be against the system start wearing uniforms and marching around with torches and pictures of a Leader, the end is nigh. When the pro-leader paramilitary and the official police and military intermingle, the end has come.

This is a tough one. We seem to be standing at the edge of this. But then, we have been here for a while. How can you tell a paramilitary from a bunch of wannabe tough guys.

I am a bit more worried about the actual military. The purge that our new Secretary of State, the hard parting, hard drinking, anti-female, anti-gay Pete Hegseth, has started is purposely designed to make a military of Trump yes men.The rubber will hit the road when they are sent to do something illegal against US citizens and they do it. I had to at the "... against US citizens ..." because sending the army and armoured vehicles to the southern border is illegal - albeit very effective.
