Awe is hard to describe and even harder to share. Awe is defined as:
Humans are inspired and driven to appreciate awe. Awe-inspiring is a common term because it is shared universally. It sparks creativity in us.
Whatever it is, this inspires me.
Trump Rant - do not proceed.
Almost everything Trump has done, he promised to do. To be shocked or outraged is understandable, but his actions are unsurprising. Except one.
The one that IS surprising is made up of 2 independent actions but timed sequentially to telegraph his openness to violence.
First, he pardoned all the January 6th rioters. Not just those who were "peaceful" but also those who were sentenced for attacking police officers, bringing guns and weapons into the Capital, and the leaders of paramilitary groups the Proud Boys and Oathkeepers.
THEN, he proceeded to remove police protection to those who have been reliably threatened by MAGA. He removed the protection of Anthony Fauci - a supporter of the Covid vaccine, John Bolten - a MAGA target for denouncing Trump's attacks on allies like Denmark, and General Mark Milley - his old head of the Military - who refused to call out the army to shoot the legs of Black Lives Matter protesters.
So #1, attacks supporting President Trump will be pardoned. And #2, here is a list of people we hate, and we have pulled their security. Go for it.
Jackanapes!
PS - I first read the word "jackanape" from an old Archie comic book over 55 years ago. It is a great word if you're trying to stop swearing so much.
