The NY Times has a piece in the Human Interest / Opinion section about a woman whose daughter died young, about 14 years old. Before she died, she told her mom that if she saw a fox after she died, it would be her.
Well, Mom has seen tons of foxes after never having seen one before near her house.
I have no snark about this. Good for the girl. And good for the mom for finding a way through her grief.
But it did get me thinking about what I would want to be reincarnated as.
Well clearly a penguin - BUT...
.. they do live in way too cold areas
So maybe a puffin, the can fly and swim. BUT...
A significant number of people eat Puffin. I don't like that.
So I am going to have to go with an Otter. They live in the ocean. No one eats them - or uses their fur anymore. The help keep kelp alive. And they can be found in Southern California.
No nevermind. I'd be a Jackass Penguin from South Africa. I could sleep in the warmth, play with the occasional human and hang out with others.
