I think Republican Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith needs to read more non-fiction and less "The Island of Dr. Moreau."
The United States Senate, often called (by themselves) the greatest deliberative body in the world, is somehow full of nutbags.
After Alabama's Supreme Court decided a fertilized cell is a human baby, the IVF method of trying to get pregnant was stopped because it committed murder (of frozen embryos). This has caused a bit of outrage. You see, lots and lots of Americans use IVF to get pregnant. Including Nikki Haley, who somehow used IVF, approves of IVF but still thinks embryos are babies.
So, the Senate attempted to pass a bill to save IVF. It failed. It failed because one Cindy Hyde-Smith blocked it. She did so because, as she put it, IVF is also used for human-animal chimeras. So Republican Senator Cindy blocked a procedure used by millions because she is afraid someone will produce a Centaur.
Only the best and brightest for the greatest deliberative body in the world.
Republican Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith represents Mississippi. On a totally unrelated note, Mississippi has the lowest rate of literacy in the US |
