From Homo Deus

Today I did a quick bit of reading. And I saw this quote in Yuval Noah Harari about when democracy does or does not work.

People feel bound by democratic elections only when they share a basic bond with most other voters.

I have always believed that all Americans follow the law and agree elections are fair. Hence, when George W. Bush lost the popular vote and won the Presidency, I was okay with it. When Trump in 2016 lost the popular vote but won the Presidency, I was okay with it. Not happy, but okay.

But MAGA voters don't believe in elections unless they win. It is ugly. And I don't like it. And it scares the hell out of me.

They hate so many people.
