To prepare you for the demonstrations ahead. Tyre Nichols was beaten to death by 5 police officers in Memphis. They said he was driving erratically when he was 200 yards from home. Then the police said that he ran away and resisted arrest. So they beat him when he was 100 yards away from his mother's house.
He was on a break from work going home for lunch / dinner!
Now you might say he was drunk or high. You would be wrong. He was on his break from the night shift at FedEx and going to his mom's house for his break, as he did every night. The police beat him so bad, they had to take him to the hospital where he died of his injuries 3 days later.
They are set to release the body cam video tonight (Friday Jan 27). It has to be horrible. They have waited until various cities (including Memphis and Washington DC) could be prepared for what must be terrible footage and demonstrations that go with it all. The 5 police have already be fired and are charged with his death. How bad is that body cam footage if the police were arrested!?
