I need another reminder I am not going to live forever, like I need a whole in my head. BUT, the reminder of mortality is also a reminder to enjoy what we have now. Like this Fall, we went leaf peeping. Life, like Fall, comes and goes quickly. Grab it while you can.
I have a plaque that reads Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in on hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO, what a ride! Words to live by in my book.
