There is no "Rule of Law" for rich white men

Once again, we are seeing there is no "rule of law" applicable to Rich White Men, particularly Rich White Republican Men. The four men below were all subpoenaed for investigations into the January 6th insurrection against the country.  All four were either instructed or got hints from ex-President Trump to avoid the subpoenas, and all are doing it.

Now imagine you or your friends ignoring a court order. How long until they throw our asses in jail? But these knobheads will be able to do it at least for a year. By that time, one or both of the houses of Congress will be run by Republicans and this will be moot.

Trump, accused of sexual assault long before Harvey Weinstein, still has not faced a jury or even a deposition.

Trump and Pompeo did not face and consequences for the crime of  soliciting foreign aid during a Federal election.

Trump has not faced any charges after taking an illegal campaign donation and lying about it (Michael Cohen went to jail for his part in the SAME SCHEME).

Trump was excused for violating the Constitution. A lawsuit was filled at the beginning of his Presidency, strung out for 4 years, then dismissed for being moot.

And so, with this precedence, the four gentlemen above find it perfectly normal to ignore a Congressional subpoena. And they will face zero consequences for it.

Matt Geaz has the same evidence against him that a admitted sexual trafficker has. And yet one is behind bars, while Matt continues to spout the same old bullshit.

Republican Representative Lauren Boebert has admitted to embeselling ("misuse of funds") over $5 million dollars during her campaign. What would happen to you if you embezzled a third of that. (Apparently a lot, since I have asked Ed to do this, and he has said no. A few times :-).

We are living in a banana republic (with a small r) where the rules of law don't apply to everyone. And where the do apply they are applied at dramatically different results.

My heart hurts.

  2. And let's not forget about the TX senate, largely Republican white men, who passed a law to go around the precedent set by Roe v. Wade that says women have a fundamental constitutional right to decide what to do with their bodies. My heart hurts.
