The Supreme Court finds UnConstitutional Texas Abortion Restrictions Just Fine

Well, I did kind of say this was coming earlier this week and last month. What I did not expect is the Supreme Court would be so gutless as to say what they did. I certainly expected them to let it go into effect, but silently. Like a spineless jellyfish I assumed they would just not rule. But the outrage was too much. So they issued a ruling that insults our intelligence. 

The Court allowed the (again) UnConstitutional law to take effect. As for UnConstitutional claim I made. The Constitutional question has been settled law for a while. A state cannot outlaw abortion before the fetus is viable. An egg at 6 weeks is definitely not viable. At this point the egg is NOT even a fetus, it is an embryo. And, very few women even know they are pregnant at this point.

The court's move means that the law -- which is one of the strictest in the nation and bans abortion before many people know they are pregnant -- will remain on the books. It is UnConstitutional as written. 

(For my European friends, I comment "unconstitutional" so much because the Supreme Court actually judges laws based on Constitutionality. In this case they are violating their own previous rulings, and violating what they said in Congressional Hearings - where they said they believed in precedent.)

The law allows private citizens to bring civil suits against anyone who assists a pregnant person seeking an abortion in violation of the ban.

In an unsigned opinion, the majority wrote that while the clinics had raised "serious questions regarding the constitutionality of the Texas law," they had not met a burden that would allow the court to block it at this time due to "complex" and "novel" procedural questions.

So there you go.  A sub-item in my Get The Fuck Out Of Dodge requirements had occurred. Not that it is a giant deal, because the second of my "Big Two" requirements have already been met - given the crap changes to Election Integrity.

This is also one of the laws that purports to ban abortion AFTER a heartbeat is detected. But the electrical impulses at this point are not a "heartbeat" as the embryo does not have any organs.
