The stupid hardening positions on masks and vaccines

For those of us who took the Covid vaccines and are now under mandate to wear masks again, this is infuriating (I will look at it from the anti-vaxxer side below). I mean, the only people that will follow this advice are those who are already vaccinated!!!!

Our feelings have gone from sad detachment when there were no vaccines, to awe at their actions when the vaccines were available and now to anger. Overboard anger on many fronts:

• Those anti-vaxxers have contributed to the growth of the delta variant- we have determined that it is they have done this single handedly - true on not .
• Anti-vaxxers have contributed -through their stubbornness and cognitive dissonance (a nice way of saying stupidity) - to a growing illness toll in young adults and children. Who knows what the long term effects are.
• Anti-vaxxers are now clogging hospitals and ICU for those sick, suffering and needing "real" care.
• Anti-vaxxers are suffering from idiocy and forcing it on the rest of us.
• Anti-vaxxers have forced us all back into masks - even though we know damn well they won't wear them.
• Anti-vaxxers are forcing their dumb ass ideas onto children in schools.

For fuck's sake!

On the other hand those that disagree with taking the vaccine have gone overboard - mainly Republicans with some idiot lefties as well.

• They believe the vaccines effect your DNA - this is slightly understandable since both the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines use mRNA to deliver the illness protection. It is wrong, but understandable. (Note: Johnson and Johnson vaccines use the traditional system of delivering vaccine).
• Many of the "autism is caused by vaccines" have expanded their talking points to this (again, wrong headed but understandable).
• Anti-vaxxers believe liberals are forcing yet another policy on to children via schools.
• Many won't wear masks because "they can't breath" - which is bullshit.
• Many believe that vaccines are not a basic good they must contribute to - which is mean spirited and small.
• Many don't want the vaccine because it makes the libs pissed - which is narrow minded and just mean.

These positions are now only hardening with more information. Albeit, places where the delta variant is spreading like wildfire have seen a large increase in vaccination requests.

It is asinine that vaccines have become a political issue.
