Some Pictures of Hoi An - For Mom

My mom sent me a great note yesterday and wanted to see pictures of Hoi An.  I am including a bunch that Ed and I took on vacation.  You remember, back when we could leave our block.

At night the city came alive on both sides of the river.

This was a walk along the river from our Hotel into Downtown
Lots of Temples. The Viet "worship" ancestors

The Vietnamese people do tend to have shrines to various Gods and the their ancestors. 'Worship" isn't the correct word, really. It's more a cross of worship and honor.

A mix in old town of Viet and French styles.

This was an ancient gate between 2 temples. the temples were destroyed, but this remained.

They were big on large bonzai plants.  I loved them.

So Hoi An was the trading capital during olden days. This is the Japanese Bridge. Built by the Japanese traders 500 years ago.

There were so many beautiful lamps and lanterns. Eddie and purchased 2 small ones for ur Christmas tree next year.
